TeamCBC Sunday Ride_BREWERY_2/18/18

FINALLY, a decent weather outlook and we will celebrate with our first breweryride of the year!

Come on out to enjoy some outside riding followed by some (free) beer afterward.
Along with the brewery rides comes the need for volunteers.  If you wold like to help out and earn some MS credit along the way, sign up below:

Come join host Team CBC at this year's MS Spring Fling and help in the fight against multiple sclerosis.

Cyclists can choose from three fully-supported route options, including 31-mile, 53-mile, and 74-mile rides. All rides start and finish at Inside-Out Sports at the Preston Walk Shopping Center in Cary.

TeamCBC Weekend Rides_SAT and SUN.2/3-4/18

Due to the crappy weather outlook (Can't we exchange Sunday's forecast for Thursday's weather?!) we are going to plan a Saturday ride in addition to the Sunday ride.  Keep an eye out on the website, facebook or your email for a Sunday ride status update.

SATURDAY, 2/3/18
After hosting a TeamCBC night last Monday we are going to try to ride out of Hickory Tavern.  It looks to be on the cold side on Saturday so bundle up!

LOCATION: Hickory Tavern
401 Village Walk Drive, Holly Springs, North Carolina 27540

Time: 12:00PM

Distance: 35 miles

Pace: dependent on attendance

SUNDAY, 2/4/18- Superbowl Sunday
Sunday's weather doesn't look great so if we ride at all it will be a show and go at 12PM.  This means whoever shows up can decide distance with the other attendees.  In the past this has been done by doing to the 30mile route with the option to add on if desired.  If this ride is cancelled I will do so by Sat night.

LOCATION: Carolina Brewing Company
140 Thomas Mill Rd, Holly Springs, NC

Route: Big Woods
Cue Sheet:

The Big Woods 30 allows for:
A shortcut: proceed all the way down Beaver Creek instead of turning onto Pea Ridge
An extension: Continue all the way down Pea Ridge instead of turning onto New Elam Church
Distance: 35 miles
Pace: dependent on attendance

TeamCBC *SATURDAY* Ride_With_LTF_From_ATT_1/27/18

Sunday's weather is not looking promising (except perhaps if you're a duck).
Rather than breaking out the SCUBA gear, we're joining forces with LifeTime Fitness Cary in their *SATURDAY* ride.
But don't write off Sunday altogether - we're going to have a maintenance day at the brewery at noon!

SATURDAY 1/27 at 10 AM

American Tobacco Trail start
1309 New Hill Olive Chapel Rd, Apex, NC

From the LTF FaceBook event:

All the snow & ice is gone! Choose Road Ride or Trail Ride Group. Road Group Route: 29 or 48 Miles all paved road
Trail Ride Group: Up to 30 miles out & back on ATT Trail which is part packed gravel & paved surfaces. We will split into pace groups at ride start. Post ride social at Mellow Mushroom 4300 NW Cary Parkway.

Post ride social at Mellow Mushroom 4300 NW Cary Parkway.

Remember hydration doesn't start 5 minutes before the ride- Operation Hydration starts now! Tips on hydration and nutrition can be found at The speed of each group is based on the slowest rider. Stronger riders should be helping the other cyclists stay together and have an enjoyable ride. People in back speak up if need be and people in front take a glance back to make sure everyone is together.

Print off your own cue sheets. None will be available at the start.

Ride Start Time is 10 AM.  We will break into pace groups at the start.

Don't forget the post ride social at Mellow Mushroom 4300 NW Cary Parkway.

Why We Are TeamCBC...

Throughout the days, weeks, and even years, we sometimes lose sight of "why" we do what we do. This is true not only of our daily routines such as going to work, but with our little cycling team we know as TeamCBC. And, when we lose that focus, we can end up not understanding the value of "what" we are doing as well.

Today, I got another reminder of how important it is to always keep the "why" in front of you and how that impacts the things you do (the "what") and how keeping that focus makes those tasks easier and utlimately more pleasurable.

Michael Jr, well known comedian and speaker, sums it up quite nicely in this video and shows why it is important to know your "why" so the "what" becomes almost second nature.

And, the reason why we are TeamCBC? Well, that's easy to understand...

Presentation - Setting Goals & Developing a Training Plan

On 1/11/2016, Danny Thomas gave a great presentation on developing a training plan for cycling at the NC Bicycle Club monthly meeting. The meeting was attended by several members of NCBC and TeamCBC. Danny is one of the regular riders with the team and always has great advice for cyclists and athletes alike.
